Take your drycleaning knowledge and skills to the next level with DLI’s 10-Day Advanced Drycleaning Course. Designed for individuals who have completed DLI’s Introduction to Drycleaning Course or who already have hands-on production experience, this course provides in-depth instruction in advanced cleaning, stain removal, finishing, equipment, plant operations, and customer service.

Students learn in both the classroom and DLI’s hands-on training facility. Classroom instruction is presented in focused, manageable lessons, followed by practical application using industry equipment and spotting stations. This combination gives students the opportunity to apply what they learn and build skills they can take back to their own operation.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for individuals who have completed the Introduction to Drycleaning Course or have previous production experience and a working knowledge of basic stain removal and finishing techniques. It is ideal for owners, managers, production supervisors, and experienced employees looking to strengthen their technical and operational knowledge.

What You’ll Learn

During the 10-day course, students will receive instruction and hands-on training in:

  • Identifying cotton, silk, polyester, and other common fibers and fabrics

  • Using bleaches safely while protecting fabric and color

  • Advanced pressing techniques for blouses, dresses, ties, pleated garments, silks, velvets, corduroy, and other garments

  • Wetcleaning wool, silk, and other fabrics

  • Maintaining and changing drycleaning machine filters

  • Troubleshooting common drycleaning machine problems

  • Using tensioning equipment to improve finishing quality and consistency

  • Understanding current regulations affecting the drycleaning industry

  • Applying effective customer service techniques in a drycleaning operation

  • Producing clean, bright white laundry

  • Cleaning and preserving wedding gowns

  • Understanding the differences among drycleaning solvents, including perc, GreenEarth®, hydrocarbon, and SOLVONK4

  • Pressing professionally laundered shirts

  • Designing an efficient drycleaning plant and improving production workflow

By combining technical instruction with hands-on practice, the Advanced Drycleaning Course helps students develop a deeper understanding of the entire cleaning process—from identifying fabrics and solving cleaning problems to improving finishing, equipment operation, workflow, and the final quality delivered to the customer.

Upon successful completion of the 10-Day Advanced Drycleaning Course, students will receive a DLI Certificate of Completion, recognizing their participation and advanced training in professional drycleaning practices.
